
Cape Coast – In a move to bolster rural healthcare, the U.S.-based non-governmental organization Citizens Taking Responsibility (CTR) has donated essential medical supplies to the Gomoa Mangoase Health Centre in the Central Region.

The brief handover ceremony took place at the health centre on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, led by Dr. Thomas Appiah. He emphasized that the donation was part of the organization's mission to give back to society, noting the supplies are expected to benefit approximately three thousand people from three neighboring communities.
Donated items included blood pressure monitors, smart nebulizers, weighing scales, medicines, syringes, hospital bedsheets, finger pulse oximeters, and episiotomy sets, among others.
Prior to this medical donation, CTR had also provided computers to the community school to enhance the teaching and learning of ICT.
The Physician Assistant for the Health Centre, Miss Clothilda Eyram Kulewosi, was assisted by medical staff and management members in receiving the items. In her acceptance speech, she noted that the facility serves a population of over 5,600 people across five communities.
"On average, we attend to 450 people per month," she stated, adding, "We serve five communities, including three outside our official jurisdiction."

The management of the Gomoa Mangoase Health Centre praised CTR's efforts, stating that the supplies arrived at a critical time and pledging to use them for their intended purposes.
The team present at the Gomoa Mangoase Health Center consisted of Ms. Anita Siripi, Senior Staff Nurse, Ms. Anita Abaidoo, Senior Staff Nurse, Mr. Eric Owusu Mensah, Laboratory Technician, Ms. Vivian Asiedu, Superintendent Health Aide, Ms. Esi Kwegyer-Aggrey, Senior Staff Nurse, Ms. Sadia Fuseini, Public Health Student Nurse, and Mr. John Takyi, Casual Worker.
The District Health Drectorate team present at the donation event also consisted of Mr. Francis Buabeng, Public Health Nurse, MR Ebenezer Armah, Disease Control Officer, and Ms. Rebecca Arthur, Public Health Nurse.
The Community Health Management Team were also present which included: Mr. Elder Daniel Bentil, Committee Secretary, Mr. Edward Usman, and Mr Abass, Hon Assembly member for the area.
On the CTR side, Mr. Carthewan Appiah and Mr. Jojo Gordon supported Dr. Thomas Appiah.
