The Central Regional foot soldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have assured President John Dramani Mahama that the people of the region, especially traditional authorities, will forever be grateful for selecting Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as running mate and subsequently becoming the first female Vice President of Ghana.
They also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Dramani Mahama for nominating Mr Ekow Panyin Adumoah and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, as the Central Regional Minister and the Finance Minister-designate, respectively.
In a press release issued on behalf of all 23 constituency organizers on Sunday, January 19, 2025, and signed by the organizer of the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, Mr. Joseph Kojo Mensah, it also saluted the president for his appointment of Felix Ofosu-Kwakye as acting spokesperson to the president and Nana Ama Browne Klutse as CEO of EPA.
Further in the release, Mr. Kojo Mensah intimated that the Central Regional NDC foot soldiers will be forever grateful for the opportunity granted to these sons and daughters of the region to serve in your administration.
The release went on to suggest that although the Central Region is lagging behind in infrastructural development, it strongly believes that with the appointment of these noble sons and daughters from the region, they will lobby for the region's portion of the national cake.
The NDC foot soldiers took the opportunity to appeal to the Vice President, Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and other Ministers-designate from the region to work hard to revive the sugar factory at Komenda, operationalize the Fisheries University at Anomabo, the Fishing Processing Plant at Elmina, which is the second-largest in West Africa, and the nursing and teachers' training colleges at Ajumako Biseasi.
Doing this, according to the release, would assist the youth in the region in getting some job offers, since unemployment is high.
