Cape Coast - The MP for Cape Coast North, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, has entreated all citizens, particularly those with active media platforms, to promote positivity and refrain from dwelling on negativity.
He emphasized that leveraging positive things can propel life forward, while negativity holds it back.
During his maiden telephone interview on GBC Radio Central on Thursday, January 1, 2025, he expressed concern that people often use their platforms to insult others and disparage the city, rather than to elevate it. He admonished citizens to project the positive aspects of Ghanaian culture to foster national character, instead of wasting precious time on unproductive ventures.
"We need to use our platforms to highlight the positive culture of our towns," he stressed. "We should cultivate a positive mindset, which would contribute to building our national character and propel Ghana forward," the MP emphasized.
Ragga, as he is affectionately called, disclosed that a collective build-up of positive energy would spiral into a year of positivity. He called on Cape Coasters to live positively and build positive relationships, which would invariably improve Ghana's outlook—benefits from which all would reap.
On the ongoing AstroTurf construction in his constituency, Ragga disclosed that work is proceeding according to the contractor's timeline and will be completed in due course. Regarding the Abura AstroTurf, he revealed that he had spoken to the concerned authorities in 2025, but unfortunately it was not captured in the budget. "They have, however, promised to consider adding and completing it this year," he said. "It is a project dear to my heart, and I will see to its completion," he promised.
Dr. Nyarku used the opportunity to thank all heads of department, the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II and his council members, the Clergy (both Christian and Muslim), the media, NDC executives from the national to the ward level, and all other professionals.
"I pray to God to bless all families, employees, employers, and every other person in Ghana. This year promises to be a good one, and we should all remain hopeful," he stated.
