In a deliberate bid to defraud some unsuspecting Ghanaian youth seeking Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) recruitment, the clandestine move of Mr. Inusah Yakubu and Daniel Nuku Kove have been uncovered and are both on the run.
The duo, together with others, have designed a grand scheme that has been used to defraud some Ghanaian youth, ostensibly to get them recruited or enlisted into the GNFS.
In trying to unravel the scam, it has been unearthed that Mr. Inusah Yakubu (0205819418) - who claims to have links with some personalities in the erstwhile New Patrotic Party (NPP) government, together with Mr. Daniel Nuku Kove have defrauded some Ghanaians youth of various sums of money raging from Gh¢12000 to ¢15, 350.
Incidentally, somewhere last year, three people who got entangled in the web of Yakubu and Kove were scammed out of various sums of money with the promise of securing their recruitment into the GNFS.
Their modus operandi was to amortize payments for applicants at various stages, sending receipts or acknowledgement of payment through emails or hard copies of GNFS receipts, and promising prospective employees that they would move to the next phase of the process. For example, one communication reads:

Nonetheless, the above letters demonstrate that it is commonsensical for anyone to believe protocol recruitments are tied to governments, showing that a change in government automatically affects any protocol arrangements thereof.
But, with Mr. Kove and Yakubu, they managed to convince prospective applicants not to relent in their recruitment efforts, assuring them that their arrangements had nothing to do with the change of government. Indeed, even in December 2024, after the elections where the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had lost, they managed to extort extra money, assuring applicants that they would be called to report on January 15, 2025, for training.
Most of the affected applicants made their payments and turned up at the James Town Fire Training Centre in Accra, only to discover that the scheme was fraudulent.
One applicant said "I went to James Town, spoke to the Fire Officer at the entrance of the centre, and she said recruits have been around since November 15, 2024,", he revealed.
Unfortunately, after this incident, all attempts to recover the money from Mr. Daniel Nuku Kove and Mr. Inusah Yakubu, for being unable to secure their recruitment into GNFS, have proved futile.
These unfortunate incidents have been necessitated by the opacity surrounding recruitment and enlistment of the youth into the security services of Ghana. Lack of transparency breeds corruption and enhances clandestine and fraudulent activities regarding employment opportunities.
With this exposé, we hope the security services will treat this matter with the urgency it deserves to apprehend the masterminds behind the fraudulent recruitment scam.
