In an effort of philanthropy and a desire to provide some respite for Kantamanto market women, Ola Maame, a spiritualist and founder of Soul Travel Ghana, has donated ¢10,000 cash to support women who lost their wares after a fire gutted the market last week.
The cash donation was aimed at supporting the women to pick up the pieces, highlighting its significance in helping them stand on their feet again.
Speaking during the donation exercise at the market on Tuesday, January 7, 2024, Ola Maame emphasised the necessity of the market women holding on to their God in times of need, adding "not repudiating your God in distress times is where you would experience the glory of God", she stated.
Encouraging the women further, she intimated that trials and tribulations such as this one are part of life, arguing that it is during such difficult times that one's faith is tested. "When there is life, there is hope... not rejecting your God during such times, your God would come to your rescue," she shared.
The Soul Travel Ghana founder counseled the women to appreciate the token contributions from people, urging them to put them together to start all over again. "Little drops of water make a mighty ocean. Adding up the little contributions from others would culminate into a bigger amount, which can be used to start afresh," she admonished.
According to her, every business venture has its attendant challenges; highlighting market fires as one of the unfortunate mishaps that befall market women, urging them to take it in stride.
In her concluding remarks, Ola Maame averred that she can offer prayers for all market women but cannot provide enough financial resources to assist all of them. "Accept this token and bless the lives of those in need on our behalf," she stated.
A representative of the market women thanked Soul Travel Ghana for their kind gesture, beseeching God's blessings for them.
