In a tragic incident, authorities at the Ada Senior High School (ADASCO) have dismissed 20 students for sneaking out of campus to swim in a nearby river, which resulted in the drowning of one student. The incident has sent shockwaves through the school community, highlighting the importance of adhering to school rules and regulations.

According to school officials, the students defied repeated warnings against unauthorized movements and activities outside the school's premises, choosing to sneak out without notifying any staff members. This reckless behavior ultimately led to the tragic loss of life.

The dismissal of the 20 students comes on the heels of a directive from the Minister of Education, urging heads of educational institutions to take firm disciplinary actions against students who flout school rules and regulations. The school authorities have emphasized that the disciplinary action is intended to serve as a deterrent to other students and to reinforce a culture of discipline and safety within second-cycle institutions.

The body of the deceased student has since been retrieved, and investigations into the matter are ongoing. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of prioritizing student safety and adhering to school rules and regulations.

The school's decision to dismiss the students is seen as a measure to ensure that students understand the gravity of their actions and the consequences of disobeying school rules. It also underscores the need for students to prioritize their safety and well-being, both within and outside the school premises.
