Early on Tuesday morning, a car lost control and fell into the Owabi River in a sad accident on the Akropong-Dabaa road.
After the car came out of the river, five people inside, including a mother and her child, were pronounced dead. The mother was taking her children to school when the incident occurred, but she let her neighbors ride along with them. The car was traveling from Dabaa to Akropong when it swerved off the main road, overturned, and crashed into the river, according to witnesses.
The deceased have been identified as Helena, a 40-year-old seamstress, Boamah Gyasi Eric, a 28-year-old plumber, Lordina Yasan, a 10-year-old student, and Rita Agyare, a 41-year-old teacher.
Following certain rites performed by the local divers and community members, the body of the missing kid, Doreen Yasan, age five, was discovered. As friends, relatives, and the community grieve the terrible loss, the deceased's bodies have been moved to the Mount Sinai morgue.
In addition to urging drivers to practice caution, particularly on the area's tiny and twisting roads, local authorities are looking into what caused the collision.
Francis Bobie Ansah, the Presiding Member of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly, gave the media confirmation of the incidence.
