Cburn, a Ghanaian musician based in the United States, has called on the organizers of the Ghana Music Awards to include Ghanaian musicians living abroad in the scheme.
In an interview with Candymann on Akwaaba Radio 93.9 in Cape Coast, Cburn expressed frustration that despite their contributions to the music industry, Ghanaian artists in the diaspora are often overlooked. He suggested creating categories specifically for Ghanaian musicians in the diaspora to recognize their efforts.
Cburn, who won the Best Hiplife/Hip Hop Song of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards USA last year, emphasized the importance of promoting Ghanaian culture through music, particularly Highlife, to a global audience. His latest album, "Aidoo's Intelligence 2.0," features 18 tracks.
The artist also offered advice to young musicians, urging them to balance their music careers with education. He further appealed to the government to invest in technical education, noting that skilled labor is highly valued in foreign countries.
