The children of legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosu) and Akosua Serwaa have officially issued a statement to set the record straight regarding recent media reports suggesting their involvement in certain legal matters.

In the statement, the family firmly denied any connection or participation in any ongoing legal process, emphasizing that they are not parties to any court case, dispute, or legal proceedings involving their parents or any third party.

“We, the children of Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa, wish to clarify and formally state that we are not parties to any legal process,” the statement began, stressing their desire to correct misinformation circulating in the media and on social platforms.

The family noted that recent reports making rounds online and on some media outlets have created unnecessary confusion and emotional distress, as they portray them as being involved in legal battles they know nothing about.

According to them, none of the children have been summoned, contacted, or involved in any form of litigation. They described the reports as misleading, speculative, and damaging, calling on the public and media houses to verify such information before publication.

The children further appealed to the general public, especially fans of Daddy Lumba, to disregard any false stories that attempt to draw them into controversies surrounding their father’s name.“We respectfully ask all individuals and media outlets to desist from dragging our names into issues that do not concern us. We remain proud of our father’s legacy and are focused on preserving his good name rather than being associated with false narratives,” the statement continued.

The statement concluded by reaffirming their commitment to unity, respect, and peace within their family, and called for responsible journalism when reporting on matters involving public figures and their relatives.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, is one of Ghana’s most celebrated and influential highlife musicians. With a career spanning over three decades, he has produced numerous timeless hits and continues to be revered as a living legend in Ghana’s music industry.

The clarification from his children is therefore intended to protect both their family’s image and the integrity of their father’s legacy from being tainted by unverified claims and sensational media narratives.
