The funerals of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva will be held on Saturday at 10 am in Gondomar, a town near Porto, Portugal.
Initially, the funerals were scheduled for Friday at 4 pm, but due to minor paperwork issues, the family requested a delay to allow for the repatriation of the bodies.
The funeral will take place at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar, with a pre-funeral wake at Sao Cosme Chapel preceding the funeral mass.
Diogo Jota, 28, and his brother Andre Silva, 25, tragically died in a car accident on Thursday in Spain. The vehicle they were in crashed and burst into flames, killing both men instantly. Jota had recently married Rute Cardoso and leaves behind three young children.
The football community has paid tribute to Jota and Silva, with condolences pouring in from fellow players, clubs, and officials. The family has not yet confirmed whether they will request privacy or make the funeral a more public affair.
