The Member of Parliament for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem (KEEA), Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills, has extended his annual educational support to newly admitted Senior High School students within the municipality.

As part of his Office of the MP Support Package for October 2025, the MP, in collaboration with the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem Municipal Assembly, presented essential learning and boarding materials to the students.

The items distributed included:

Student mattresses

Trunks

Exercise books

Chop boxes

Mosquito nets

Sanitary pads (for female students)

Addressing the media during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Atta-Mills explained that the initiative forms part of his office’s commitment to promote education and encourage academic excellence in the municipality.

According to him, the selection covered students who obtained grades ranging from aggregate 6 to 15 in the 2025 BECE, adding that this criterion was set to motivate other students who did not meet the cut-off to study harder and benefit in subsequent years.

He further urged the beneficiaries to remain disciplined and focused on their studies, emphasizing that education remains the surest path to success. Hon. Atta-Mills also appealed to parents to support their children’s education by providing the necessary materials to enhance their learning.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ismail Zagoon-Saeed, who was present at the event, commended the MP for his continuous dedication to education in the municipality. He stressed that the selection process was based solely on merit and academic performance, not political affiliation. He also cautioned the beneficiaries to exhibit good conduct in school and make the municipality proud.

As part of the support, the best three students with outstanding BECE results received undisclosed amounts of cash in addition to the items presented from the MP.

The overall best student, Ebenezer Poku, who scored aggregate 6, expressed his gratitude to Hon. Atta-Mills and his team, stating that he never expected such recognition. He noted that the MP’s previous donations, including mathematical sets, helped him prepare for the exams. Ebenezer pledged to work harder and live up to expectations.

The event reaffirmed Hon. Atta-Mills’ commitment to empowering the youth of KEEA through education and motivation, ensuring that no child is left behind in their pursuit of academic excellence.
