The Mahama family is in mourning following the passing of Malik Dramani Mahama, a brother of former President John Dramani Mahama. Malik is reported to have died in the early hours of Friday, July 18, 2025, in the United Kingdom, where he had lived and worked for several years.
Though the family has not yet issued an official statement, Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to President Mahama, Madam Joyce Bawah Mogtari, confirmed the sad news through a heartfelt tribute shared on social media.
Madam Joyce, who is also a member of the Mahama family, took to Facebook to express her grief and offer prayers for the departed. “Rest in power, Uncle Malik! May Allah be pleased with your soul! Our cheerleader, may your soul rest in eternal peace,” she wrote.
Details surrounding his death and funeral arrangements are yet to be communicated by the family.
As condolences pour in, many have joined in extending their sympathies to the Mahama family during this difficult time.
