Ghanaian musician Patapaa, popularly known for his viral hit One Corner, has launched a scathing attack on fellow artiste Takum over what he describes as a disrespectful and insulting reference in Takum’s latest song.
Takum, who hails from Assin, recently released a remix with African Dancehall King Shatta Wale titled Don’t Fall in Love. In the song, he used the line: “If I have money, ladies see me as Van Vicker. But if I don’t have money, ladies see me as Patapaa.”
The comparison has not gone down well with Patapaa, who took to social media to vent his anger. According to him, Takum’s lyrics are derogatory and amount to public ridicule of his brand and personality.
Clearly infuriated, Patapaa has issued an ultimatum to Takum, demanding that the song be taken down from all digital streaming platforms within one week or risk facing legal consequences.
“Why should you mention my name in such a negative light? I won’t tolerate disrespect from anyone in this industry,” Patapaa fumed, adding that he is ready to pursue the matter in court if Takum fails to comply.
This development has sparked heated reactions among fans, with some supporting Patapaa’s stance while others argue that the line was merely a creative expression. Shatta Wale, who featured on the track, has yet to comment on the controversy.
For now, all eyes are on Takum whether he will heed Patapaa’s warning or stand by his lyrics in the face of possible legal action.
