U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that the man accused of attempting to shoot conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Speaking on Fox & Friends Friday morning, Trump disclosed that Robinson was turned in to authorities by his own father. According to him, Robinson’s distinctive sweatshirt and clear facial features made it easy for his father to recognize him as the individual spotted on the rooftop at the time the gunshot rang out.
The incident, which sent shockwaves through political and media circles, occurred when a single shot was fired during Kirk’s appearance. Fortunately, no fatal injuries were reported.
As of now, details remain unclear regarding the circumstances of Robinson’s capture and whether he resisted arrest. Authorities are expected to release more information as investigations continue.
This development highlights the crucial role Robinson’s father played in ensuring his son was handed over to law enforcement, potentially preventing further harm.
