A former member of parliament for Akrpong Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei has filed a lawsuit against Sophia Ocansey, the CEO of SO Herbal and a well-known TikToker.
A former deputy minister under the former Akufo-Addo administration, Nana Ama Dokua, has sued TikToker for defamation and is seeking GH¢5 million in damages. She filed a lawsuit when SO Herbal made false statements about the former minister on multiple TikTok live sessions, according to a TV3 news report.
Ama Dokua clarified that throughout her two live TikTok sessions, SO referred to her as a robber and characterized her as a trigger-free nonentity. According to Ama, SO's behavior has damaged her reputation and made her the target of public mockery.
She is therefore demanding a huge sum of money and an apology for the unsavoury remarks made against her. Portions of a writ of summons sighted by YEN.com.gh stated that "Defendant, during some of these live sessions and videos circulating online, made untrue, false, malicious, vexatious, defamatory, and unfounded statements against the plaintiff purposefully geared towards damaging and tarnishing the hard-won reputation of the plaintiff, which statements in fact have damaged the reputation of the plaintiff."
Ama further explained that in January and February 2025, SO Herbal, in two of her TikTok live sessions, defamed her by broadcasting and publishing defamatory words.
