Charger Limited, the long-standing headline sponsor of the Upper East Music Awards (UEMA), has officially announced its decision to step down as the main sponsor for this year’s edition.

In an official statement signed by CEO Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, the company congratulated all artistes who emerged as winners in last year’s edition, commending their creativity and dedication to the music industry in the region.

For the past five years, Charger Limited has been instrumental in driving the success of UEMA, contributing significantly to the growth and visibility of the entertainment industry in the Upper East Region.

The statement noted that while there were plans to organize a formal prize presentation ceremony, scheduling challenges caused delays. To avoid further setbacks, winners and their management teams have been directed to contact the company’s Regional Manager, Edward Anafo, Regional Consultant, Azongo Albert, and PRO, Atanga Alex, to facilitate prize redemption.

Dr. Borketey explained that stepping down as the main sponsor forms part of the brand’s ongoing internal restructuring and strategic realignment. However, Charger Limited expressed its willingness to support future editions of the awards when possible.

“We remain committed to the growth of talent in the region and thank all stakeholders for their continued support and understanding,” the statement concluded.
