On May 31, 2025, the Richmonda Hotel in Bolgatanga witnessed a heartfelt moment as Miss Freda Nsobila Amisonga officially launched Amisonga Impact — a foundation born out of deep reflection, genuine compassion, and a drive to create lasting change.

With great emotion, Freda welcomed her guests with words of appreciation, expressing gratitude to family, friends, the guest speaker, and the event’s chairman.

Freda introduced herself not just by name, but by purpose. A native of Winkogo and a Computer Science student at KNUST, she is known as a young lady of many hats — a leader, pageant contestant, organizer, and a changemaker. Her impressive résumé includes serving as Deputy Wocom for her department, Vice President of WISE at KNUST, Welfare Chairperson for SCISA, and General Secretary of BOSOM.

But perhaps one of her most defining moments came in 2024, when she proudly represented the Talensi District as a contestant in the prestigious Happy Man Bitters Miss Upper East Ghana pageant. Her performance in the competition was not just about beauty or grace — it was about voice, vision, and impact. Her exceptional versatility throughout the pageant earned her the coveted title of Most Versatile Female of the Year, reinforcing her identity as a true changemaker with purpose beyond the stage.

From these experiences, Freda realized she had more to offer her community — thus, Amisonga Impact was born. Derived from her surname, Amisonga, which means “a person who knows better,” the name speaks to a vision of lasting positive influence. Freda explained that she asked herself a simple but powerful question: “What can I do to help the community, and how will mine be different?” The answer became her foundation’s core — to reach the educated and uneducated alike with tools, mentorship, and opportunities to grow.

Amisonga Impact is focused on practical change. For students in deprived areas, the foundation will provide learning materials and mentorship to guide their academic journeys. For those who dropped out of school or never had the chance, the foundation aims to offer skills training to give them another shot at life.

The foundation’s mission is clear: to empower both the educated and uneducated through inclusive education, mentorship, and practical skills, while fostering a culture of lifelong learning. Its vision is of a society where everyone — no matter their background — has access to tools that unlock their potential.

Built on values like inclusivity, integrity, empowerment, equity, and community engagement, Amisonga Impact is targeting primary and JHS students, as well as out-of-school youth. It is currently calling for volunteers, sponsors, team members, mentors, financial support, educational materials, training resources, and partnership with other foundations to help drive its goals.

Among the foundation’s upcoming projects are a “Back to School” outreach, mentorship and motivation tours, “Skill Up” vocational training sessions, the “Save Flow” campaign for menstrual health, free breast cancer screening, and programs to feed and clothe orphans.

In her closing remarks, Freda said, “This is not just a launch — it’s the beginning of something bigger. We are here because we believe one skill, one mentor, one book, and one chance can change a life. Every child deserves an opportunity, and every woman and girl deserves to dream, learn, and lead.”

The official launch of Amisonga Impact is a testament to the fact that one individual with a clear vision and a heart for impact can set the wheels of transformation in motion. With continued support, this initiative promises to rewrite stories, restore hope, and uplift lives in ways that will be felt for generations.
