In an effort to tackle period poverty and keep girls in school, HealEnt Foundation has taken a bold step to support young girls in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.

The foundation visited two schools—Presby and Roman schools in Antwirifo—where they engaged students in conversations about menstrual hygiene and self-confidence. As part of the outreach, HealEnt Foundation donated sanitary pads to the girls, helping reduce the financial burden many of them face every month.
“For many girls, sanitary pads are a basic necessity they simply can’t afford,” Fatima Salifu, CEO of HealEnt Foundation said. “Some are forced to use unsafe alternatives, while others miss school entirely during their period. We want to change that.”
The visit was not just about giving pads—it was also about educating and empowering. The team provided essential guidance on how to manage menstruation hygienically, helping the girls build the confidence they need to focus on their education without shame or stigma.
Despite the success of the outreach, the foundation says there's still more work to be done. HealEnt Foundation is now calling on individuals and organizations to support its goal of reaching over 2,000 girls across Dormaa.

“This is just the beginning. Our aim is to ensure that no girl misses school simply because she doesn’t have access to sanitary pads,” Fatima Salifu added.
Fatima Salifu, CEO of HealEnt Foundation, also took a special moment to show appreciation to all those who made the initiative possible. She extended gratitude to Faris Emporium, Nos Media, CADY Sanitary Pads, Director of GHS Daniel Konka, Director of Dormaa West Daniel Kwame Owusu, Amponsah, Big Base, RENEF Foundation, JoJo Pharmacy, Pentecost Store, all media houses in Dormaa, and the entire team at HealEnt Foundation.
“Your support means the world to us—and to the girls whose lives we’re trying to change,” she said.
HealEnt Foundation is continuing to receive donations and support to make this vision a reality. Anyone interested in helping can reach out to contribute towards a future where every girl can manage her period with dignity and confidence.
