Akatsi, Volta Region - The Akatsi North District has marked a significant milestone in its healthcare journey with the official opening of its own National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) office. The newly refurbished and equipped office, handed over by Hon. Bless Kojo Katamani, DCE of Akatsi North, will provide residents with easy access to NHIS services, eliminating the need to travel to neighboring districts such as Akatsi South, Ketu-North, and others.

The office, previously a challenge for residents, will now offer convenient services, bringing relief to the people of Akatsi North. Hon. Katamani expressed his satisfaction with the development, saying, "The distress of traveling long distances to access NHIS services is now a thing of the past. This office will bring healthcare closer to our people, and we are committed to ensuring that our healthcare needs are met."

The NHIS office is expected to improve healthcare access and outcomes in the district, aligning with the government's efforts to strengthen healthcare systems. Residents have welcomed the development, praising the DCE and stakeholders for their efforts. "This is a great achievement for our district, and we are grateful to Hon. Katamani and our MP for making this a reality," said a resident.

The office is fully equipped with modern facilities and staff, and will provide a range of services, including registration, renewal, and claims processing. The DCE has assured residents that the office will be well-maintained and expanded as needed to meet growing demand.

The ceremony concluded with prayers, thanking God for the achievement. The people of Akatsi North are optimistic that this development will improve their healthcare outcomes and overall wellbeing.
