A member of the New Patriotic Party’s National Communication Team, Senyo Amekplenu, has questioned the relevance of the arguments being advanced by United Party (UP) spokesperson Solomon Owusu over the annulment of the 2024 parliamentary results in Kpandai.
Quizzing Owusu, Mr. Amekplenu asked whether the people who voted for the president in Kpandai were brought in from the Northern Region, suggesting that attempts to cast doubt on the constituency’s voting patterns were misplaced.
Speaking on the matter, Senyo Amekplenu maintained that the annulment of the parliamentary results is on weak grounds.
According to him, the High Court’s decision, which is being challenged, should be examined strictly on legal grounds rather than being politicized to score points or undermine the credibility of voters in Kpandai.
Amekplenu further described the annulment as an irrelevant development being used by the current NDC government to set a bad precedent. He warned that allowing such decisions to stand without proper scrutiny could open the floodgates for future election results to be challenged on weak grounds.
