Member of Parliament for Twifo Atiimorkwaa, Hon. David Vondee, has stated that even members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) privately acknowledge that President John Dramani Mahama is performing well in office.

According to him, the growing recognition of the President’s leadership cuts across party lines, reflecting a national appreciation of governance that prioritizes diplomacy, stability, and regional cooperation. He made these remarks while reacting to news from Nigeria, which he described as a strong endorsement of President Mahama’s stature on the African continent.

Hon. Vondee lauded the decision by traditional authorities in Lagos to honor President Mahama with a chieftaincy title, describing it as a proud moment for Ghana.

He explained that such recognition is not given lightly and is usually reserved for leaders who have demonstrated commitment to unity, peace, and mutual respect among nations.

According to him, the honor reflects President Mahama’s role in strengthening Ghana–Nigeria relations and promoting West African integration.

The Twifo Atiimorkwaa MP further argued that international respect for President Mahama reinforces confidence in his leadership at home. He said the chieftaincy honor in Lagos shows that Ghana’s President is being acknowledged beyond partisan politics and national borders.

Hon. Vondee urged Ghanaians to see the recognition as a collective achievement, stressing that when Ghana’s leadership is celebrated abroad, it elevates the country’s image and influence across the region.
