Unity in Sacrifice: NDC Chairman Urges Party Loyalty

A Call to Recognize Grassroots Efforts

Hon. Mawutor Agbavitor, Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, has emphasized the imperative of acknowledging the sacrifices of party members who contributed to John Mahama's victory.

Agbavitor echoed this sentiment, stating, "Many have sacrificed in diverse ways to help the party win power." He acknowledged that these sacrifices are multifaceted and often immeasurable, saying, "The sacrifices are varied and some incalculable. We all did it because we believe in the ethos and traditions set forth in the spirit and letter of our constitution as NDC."

Reaping the Fruits of Sacrifice

Agbavitor urged party members to remain patient and loyal, assuring them that their efforts will yield fruit in due time. "We're all political actors on the political stage with our entries and exits," he said. We're all beneficiaries of the goodwill, economic gains, and improving standard of living as Ghanaians."

He cautioned against allowing personal circumstances to affect party loyalty and service, saying, "Let's not allow the immediacy of personal circumstances affect our loyalty and zest for service." This comes as some party members have expressed disillusionment, prompting Agbavitor to emphasize the importance of unity and collective purpose.

A United Front

Agbavitor stressed the importance of unity, citing the opposition's internal conflicts as a cautionary tale for the NDC. "Let's learn from the opposition's internecine strife and our own past," he said. "Let no rancour or malice infiltrate our ranks. Let's coalesce behind our leaders to deliver on our promises to our people. A victory for one is a victory for all. Together we stand, divided we fall, and fractured we flounder." By recognizing and valuing grassroots contributions, the NDC can fortify its foundation and ensure future success.
