The departure of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by President Akufo-Addo, signifies Ghana's second independence, according to Divine Nkrumah, Director of Operations for the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP).
According to him, former President Akufo-Addo's resignation signifies the end of a corrupt, avaricious, careless, and malevolent leader.
According to Divine Nkrumah, he has never seen a leader as autocratic and polarizing as Akufo-Addo in history.
He charged him of stifling press and speech freedom.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Mr. Nkrumah said that Ghanaians' ire was validated by the vote for President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
He believed that all of Mr. Mahama's shortcomings had been obscured by the NPP's failure and chaos.
He claimed that Akufo-Addo's incapacity demonstrated that Mr. Mahama was a better leader who performed better while in office.
He said, "I feel relieved," to Kwabena Agyapong, the host. Ghanaians are relieved. I am looking forward to the inaugural event. It means that a mistake we made is over and that an error has ended. Voting for former President Akufo-Addo was a mistake on our part. His term as president was one of immorality.
Our second freedom and independence are symbolized by his term's conclusion. He repressed free expression while he was in charge. He was irresponsible and pure evil, so people were unable to criticize him.
We massively supported Mahama because of Akufo-Addo's sins. Mahama's shortcomings have been erased and he has become a saint as a result of the NPP's evils. We labeled Mahama incompetent, but we had no idea how inept Akufo-Addo was. All we can do is hope and pray that we never elect another president like Akufo-Addo. We should never forget this history, record it, and convey to the next generation that Ghana was regressed for more than two decades under a corrupt, careless, and inept government.
"We do not want a recurrence of this wicked leadership," he continued. It is our hope and prayer that the reset that Mr. Mahama promised will benefit the people.
