Bagbin directs the Appointments Committee to consider Mahama's initial ministerial nominees.

Three ministerial nominees have been submitted to the Appointments Committee by Speaker of the House of Representatives Alban Bagbin for review and report.

President John Dramani Mahama nominated Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister-Designate for Justice, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister-Designate for Finance, and John Jinapor as Minister-Designate for Energy. "On your behalf, I have received a telegram dated January 9, 2025, from the President's office.

As a result, honourable members, I will forward the nominees to the Appointments Committee for review and report back to the house.

The Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh in response urged the nominees to prepare adequately to appear before the Appointments Committee for vetting.

"We would want to advise your nominees to arrive ready. They should arrive ready because things won't be going as usual. If you stand before the appointment committee, I hope you will be ready.
