Cletus Seidu Dapilah, the Upper West Region's Jirapa Constituency Member of Parliament, has stated that he fully supports President-elect John Dramani Mahama's choice of Alban Bagbin to serve as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
Bagbin's leadership abilities were commended by Dapilah, who called him brave, careful, and a leader that is difficult to govern.
This comes after President-elect Mahama formally instructed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Leadership to designate The Right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
The decision, which acknowledges Bagbin's outstanding service to Parliament, was made following discussions with the NDC leadership.
Bagbin, the Speaker of the 8th Parliament, has been the Member of Parliament for Nadwoli and has been the Majority Leader as well as the Minority Leader.
The president-elect has trusted Bagbin because of his vast expertise and leadership skills, and he thinks his leadership would assist Parliament better monitor and advance Ghana's legislative and democratic development.
In response to Mahama's support on GHOne TV, Dapilah said he agreed, pointing out that Bagbin's leadership abilities are exactly what a leader ought to have.
He emphasized that Bagbin was an exceptional character in Ghanaian politics because of his audacious and resolute nature.
According to him, "Alban Bagbin possesses certain qualities that are essential for any leader to have." He is decisive, meticulous, brave, and bold. It's not in his journal, and he is not the type of leader you can bully. He has endured the worst.
