With or without her, Sarah Adwoa Safo, the departing Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, thinks it is imperative that the party make every effort to regain the seat.
After losing the internal New Patriotic Party primaries, the MP told reporters she did not want to continue serving as Dome-Kwabenya's spokesperson.
She claimed that since losing the primaries, she has made it known that she will be joining the national campaign team.
When questioned why she did not assist her party in keeping the seat in the just concluded elections, she responded as follows.
The church and my dad are very significant. When parliament reconvened on Monday, December 16, 2024, she told reporters, "I believe that as a party, we have to look at that in the constituency: what role does it play, and what pointers does it give us moving forward?"
She adamantly told her detractors who held her responsible for the party's loss that "I think that those are [people] just criticizing for criticizing's sake."
"I made it clear that I would be joining the national campaign as soon as I lost that seat in my primary."
She also suggested that the party evaluate and deal with the reasons for their loss in Dome Kwabenya.
