I want to be Ghana’s Finance Minister who reduced prices, created jobs – Ato Forson

If verified, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister-Designate for Finance, has listed his top objectives.

Dr. Forson stated during his January 13 vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament that he hoped to be known as a minister who stabilized the economy and successfully lowered the cost of goods and services.

In order to accomplish his objectives, which include reviving the economy and generating employment, he also prayed for heavenly help.

“I want to be remembered as the one who helped to reduce prices, stabilised the economy and created jobs. That is what I ask God to help me to achieve.”

Regarding employment, I have stated that, as the minister in charge of finance, it is my duty to provide the necessary funds and distribute them, after consulting with the cabinet, to the industries that would generate employment. That is what we shall do. As a minister, they are my top priorities, and we will endeavor to accomplish them as quickly as possible.
