Kwesi Appiah has stated that he is committed to helping Sudan win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
By placing second in Group F during the qualifiers, the Falcons of Jediane secured their place in the esteemed competition.
Despite the difficulties caused by Sudan's lack of a competitive domestic league, Appiah's team beat Ghana and Niger to finish behind group leaders Angola.
The former head coach of Ghana has set his sights on leading Sudan to their first AFCON victory, with the tournament scheduled for December 2025.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Appiah stated, "My goal is to win the trophy."
By the grace of God, we are eligible. To make sure we have a solid team before the AFCON, we will prepare extensively.
He continued by saying, "Once you're in, you aim for the cup rather than coming out with nothing."
The 2025 AFCON will begin on December 21, 2025, and the formal draw will be place in Rabat, Morocco, on January 25.
Sudan will now concentrate on putting together a strong squad in order to establish themselves on the continental scene.
