Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), met with President John Dramani Mahama in Accra for a crucial meeting.

The two talked about how the AfDB could keep funding and supporting significant social and economic infrastructure projects, particularly as the new administration starts to rebuild damaged vital infrastructure and reset the economy.

President Mahama's administration is trying to revitalize the economy and repair damaged vital infrastructure, thus this summit comes at a crucial moment.

Addressing Ghana's economic growth issues, which have been impeded by macroeconomic instability, tighter global financial conditions, and spillover effects, will be made possible with the AfDB's assistance.

The AfDB’s Country Strategy Paper (CSP) 2024-2029 for Ghana outlines priority areas, including supporting industrialisation and private sector development, as well as infrastructure development.

These align with President Mahama’s goals, and the meeting marked a crucial step in strengthening the partnership between Ghana and the AfDB.
