According to Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the party's objective for the 2024 election was to win by a wide margin.
He claims that in spite of all the effort, the party was not satisfied with the result.
And in his view, they have not lost the war in their pursuit of a better Ghana, even though they may not have won the battle.
"The NPP leadership shares in the pain of all party supporters devastated by the election defeat," the party chairman said in a speech to party members. "We may not have won the battle, but we haven't lost the war on the quest for a better Ghana." "There is no doubt that the election outcome was not what we hoped for."
As with the hundreds of millions of Ghanaians who put their hopes and ambitions into this campaign, he clarified, "We understand your disappointment because we feel it too."
He stated, "As a party founded by people from all walks of life who are inspired by the principles of freedom and progress, we aim to increase the individual liberty of our people by fostering a robust democracy."
Mr. Ntim declared that the party would form an impartial and efficient election review committee in January 2025 to carry out a comprehensive post-mortem on the election outcomes.
He added that in order to investigate the circumstances and contributing factors to the defeat, the committee will consult with the public and party stakeholders.
"We are confident that the election review committee's work will allow our people to voice their concerns and to highlight ideas, reforms, and changes, as well as other important issues required to restructure our party," he stated.
