As the Electoral Commission (EC) works to complete the results compilation for the 20 voting places in the constituency, tensions are running high in Ablekuma North.

Both sides have voiced worries about the verification process, which is why the process was halted yesterday owing to disagreements.

In order to help with the authentication of the remaining results, the EC has called in 12 presiding officers from the constituency and is expecting the arrival of 20 more.

Vincent Obeng, the Returning Officer for Ablekuma North, stated that the action is intended to guarantee the validity and precision of the outcome.

Daniel Tonyiga, the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Ablekuma North Elections Director, has strongly disagreed with the decision, which has caused controversy.

Mr. Tonyiga contends that the process's integrity may be compromised by the presiding officers' involvement at this point.

"We think there should be no undue influence and transparency in the collation process. Fairness is called into question by the EC's choice to include presiding officers in this way, Tonyiga said.

The NDC party agent claims that EC officials have manipulated numbers.

Tensions between local party agents and fans have increased as a result of the uncertainty, and many are urging a prompt settlement to prevent further escalation.

As the commission attempts to resolve the controversial problems, observers are calling for composure and openness.
