The sale, leasing, or processing of transactions involving state and public lands must immediately stop, under President John Dramani Mahama's directive.

In a statement dated January 10, 2025, Secretary to the President Dr. Callistus Mahama conveyed this decision, which aims to protect these areas for the benefit of all citizens and future generations.

In order to enable a thorough examination of the existing structure controlling the administration of State and Public Lands, the directive requires that all pending and continuing transactions be immediately stopped.

Within 14 days following the transmission, the Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission is to provide the Office of the President with a comprehensive account of all recent and ongoing transactions pertaining to these lands.
