Justin Kodua Frimpong, the general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has denied rumors that the party has discussed a possible parliamentary alliance with social critic Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus.
“The NPP has not met with A-Plus, nor has it authorized anyone to convey any message to him on its behalf,” Mr. Frimpong said unequivocally in a statement.
The statement comes after A-Plus claimed on social media that he had been approached by the NPP, led by Kennedy Agyapong, offering to work with him in Parliament.
The NPP promised not to run for the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 election as part of their plan, according to A-Plus.
Additionally, A-Plus disclosed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had invited them to a meeting that would take place tomorrow morning.
He stated his preference for the NDC but added that his choice will ultimately rely on whatever party puts his and the people of Gomoa Central's needs first.
A-Plus remarked, "I will have to disappoint someone tomorrow," but "I will side with whoever offers the best offer for me and my people, even though deep down my heart leans toward the NDC."
The NPP has pointed out that A-Plus' in-depth analysis is useless because they haven't gotten in touch with him or assigned anyone to submit a bid for parliamentary alliance on the party's behalf.
