The Supreme Court will rule on the dispute regarding vacant parliamentary seats today, November 12, barring any last-minute changes. On Monday, the Apex Court was supposed to make a decision on the case, but when it did, Speaker Alban Bagbin's attorneys had not submitted any paperwork and were not there.

The Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, expressed doubts regarding the legitimacy of Thaddeus Sory's ongoing representation of the Speaker, which led to the absence.

The Attorney-General argued that it was improper because the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) had not approved the engagement.

On October 17, 2024, Speaker Bagbin declared four seats vacant due to the decision of the Members of Parliament (MPs), citing that the MPs had violated constitutional requirements by switching their allegiance ahead of the upcoming election.
