Lawyers for Gifty Oware Mensah, the former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), have clarified that her recent travels were a personal break following the 2024 general elections, addressing speculation about her whereabouts.
In a statement issued on February 28, 2025, her legal team, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, confirmed that she exercised her constitutional right to travel and has no plans to relocate.
They also noted that even during her break, she participated in an event in Morocco in February 2025 as an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
This clarification comes after the arrest of former NSA Deputy Executive Director, Kwaku Ohene Djan, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the NSS ghost name scandal.
Her lawyers emphasized that Oware Mensah has not received any summons from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) or other investigative bodies and is fully willing to cooperate with any official inquiry. They urged the public to disregard misleading claims and allow due process to unfold.
