1 US dollar is trading at 8.28 Ghanaian cedis.

Early today, Google's currency converter indicated an exchange rate of 1 US dollar to 8.28 Ghanaian cedis, leading to great confusion among forex rate trackers. However, examinations from financial platforms such as Wise.com and Exchange-Rates.org show that the actual exchange rate on March 4, 2025, was roughly 15.38 GHS per USD, which is much more than what Google indicated.

The apparent inaccuracy aroused concerns, as many people rely on Google's converter for real-time currency rate updates. Some financial analysts believe the problem was caused by a temporary fault with the data flow. Others believe it was caused by incorrectly displaying obsolete information.

The Bank of Ghana has not commented on the disparity, but experts advise the public to double-check rates from other sources, including official financial platforms such as Bloomberg, XE, and the Bank of Ghana's website, to avoid disinformation.

The current dollar-to-cedi exchange rate is volatile due to economic conditions, and traders, businesses, and people are encouraged to double-check rates before making financial choices.

As the situation progresses, we will provide additional updates.
