Bukom Banku Finally Arrested in Bawku After a Seven-Month Manhunt

Bukom Banku, a renowned Ghanaian boxer, has been involved in a completely different kind of fight - a legal one. He was arrested in Bawku, his father's hometown, after being on the run for seven months for allegedly stealing gold worth over 800,000 cedis.

It all started when Banku was entrusted to transport the gold to a buyer in Manso-Adubia but instead disappeared with the consignment. This led to a massive manhunt, which seemed futile until a traveler tipped off the police and company workers about his whereabouts.

Interestingly, investigations revealed that Banku had invested part of the stolen money in local transport, buying two motorbikes and tricycles, and even built a small house. Unfortunately, only half of the stolen wealth has been recovered, and authorities are working to retrieve the rest.

But here's the thing - Bukom Banku is actually a celebrated boxer, not a small-scale mining delivery worker. He has an impressive record, with 29 wins and only one loss in his professional career . He's also known for his TV show, "Bukom Banku Live," which premiered on GhOne TV in 2020 .

It's worth noting that Banku has had previous run-ins with the law, including arrests for assault . However, this recent incident seems to be a more serious matter.
