Electoral Commission Destroys Faulty Ballot Papers to Ensure Election Integrity

The Electoral Commission (EC) has indeed supervised the destruction of defective ballot papers. This exercise was carried out to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and prevent any potential misuse of the defective ballots .

The defective ballots were identified due to serialization errors and were subsequently destroyed at the Adipa Waste Management Centre in the Eastern Region. The exercise was conducted under the strict supervision of police officers and representatives from various political parties .

The EC has emphasized that the destruction of defective ballot papers is a routine process that has been in place to ensure the integrity of the electoral process. The Commission has also assured the public that only the specified number of ballot papers was printed, which comprises the actual number of voters per constituency plus five percent only .
