The absence of Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has stalled the presentation of the mini-budget, sparking controversy in parliament. The Minority is accusing the government of intentionally delaying the process, which could have significant implications for the country's finances.

The Finance Minister's absence is particularly notable, given that parliament was recalled specifically for the budget presentation. The Minority is questioning the government's decision to communicate the document to parliament without being prepared to present it.

Minority Chief Whip Kwame Agbodza expressed concerns about the potential consequences of the delay, particularly on public sector salaries. He warned that the NPP government would be held fully accountable should workers experience delays in receiving their wages.

Agbodza described the situation as a "troubling mystery" with serious implications. He questioned the government's decision to communicate the document to parliament without being prepared to present it. "Why did you communicate that document to parliament if you are not ready to lay it?" he asked.

The Minority is also warning of constitutional consequences for public officials who fail to discharge their duties. Agbodza placed the blame squarely on President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Bawumia, and the Finance Minister should the budget not be addressed before the current parliamentary term expires.

The absence of Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and other key NPP figures has further compounded the situation. The acting Majority Leader informed parliament that the NPP leadership was also in the dark regarding the Minister's whereabouts and the delay.

The Minority is demanding answers from the government, calling for transparency and accountability. They are also warning that the delay could have far-reaching consequences for the country's economy and finances.

The situation remains uncertain, with the Minority vowing to intensify their demands for accountability. The government's failure to present the mini-budget has sparked controversy and raised concerns about the country's financial management.
