President Akufo-Addo has just commissioned the Tema-Mpakadan Standard Gauge Railway line, a 97.6 km project that's part of Ghana's plan to create an integrated transportation network. The railway line, which was commissioned on Friday, November 22, 2024, is expected to revamp rail operations across the country.
As part of the event, the president also inaugurated two new Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) trains. These trains come with some amazing features, including ultramodern gates, communication systems, emergency exits, air conditioners, and power outlets.
This development comes on the heels of the president's commissioning of the Flower Pot Interchange at Spintex in Accra, which was constructed to improve network connectivity and reduce traffic .
