The High Court in Accra has granted bail to Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of Elrad Amoako, whose conduct caused the catastrophe that claimed two lives at East Legon. When questioned, the two admitted that they had granted their youngster permission to drive to the gym and other places. A third accused person, Linda Bempah, whose employment the prosecution identified as a sales assistant at Lilo Stitches—where the suspect's brother works—has also been granted bail. Salifu and Mouha Amoako, the purported driver's parents, were detained by the police on Tuesday and showed up in court on Wednesday.
They are charged with permitting an unauthorized person to drive a car. The accused were each granted GHc 50,000 in bail by the judge following the hearing of both sides of the case.
