Ghana's UCMAS team has departed for India to participate in an international mental arithmetic competition, where they will compete against top young talents from around the world.

Twenty-eight young Ghanaian prodigies have departed for India to participate in the 2024 UCMAS International Competition. The children, who have undergone intense training in mental arithmetic, will compete against other talented youngsters from around the world.

The atmosphere at the Kotoka International Airport was filled with excitement and pride as family members bid farewell to their children. Many were holding back tears as they shared last-minute words of encouragement.

The Ghanaian team is determined to surpass their previous achievements, having won four trophies at the competition in Malaysia last year. They are inspired by past champions, such as Kwabena Asamoah Amoah, who won a global recognition and a university scholarship in 2012.

The competition will test the children's speed, accuracy, and creativity in mental arithmetic. It will be a platform for them to showcase their skills and hard work.

After the competition, the team will embark on a retreat to Dubai, where they will explore the city's iconic landmarks and celebrate their achievements.
