Former President John Mahama has fired back at President Nana Akufo-Addo's claims about the persistent power outages, commonly known as "dumsor," during Mahama's tenure. Mahama insists that the power crisis had been resolved before he left office in 2017, contrary to Akufo-Addo's remarks .

Akufo-Addo had questioned the feasibility of Mahama's proposed "24-Hour Economy" policy, suggesting that Mahama couldn't maintain a stable 12-hour power supply during his presidency. Mahama responded by accusing Akufo-Addo of spreading misinformation, citing that in 2016, "dumsor" had been solved, and nobody experienced load-shedding .

Mahama's administration had implemented measures to address the power crisis, including introducing emergency power plants like Ameri and Karpowership, increasing Ghana's power generation capacity, and investing in renewable energy solutions .
