Osman Iddrisu, the NPP Chairman for Ayawaso West Wuogon, is confident that Lydia Seyram Alhassan will retain her seat in the 2024 election. He's even gone as far as to say that the NPP will "retire" John Dumelo, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, who's looking to snatch the seat .
Iddrisu attributed Dumelo's strong performance in the 2020 election, where he polled 37,778 votes, to the Covid-19 pandemic. He's also boasted that the NPP will win the election with a huge margin, making it impossible for Dumelo to even think about running again .
The NPP Chairman emphasized that his party won't be complacent and will continue engaging with constituents until the election is over. He also highlighted the NPP's achievements in the constituency, including building 7 schools and implementing social interventions .
It's worth noting that Dumelo and his team have raised concerns about alleged voter influence during the Special Voting exercise. However, Iddrisu has urged the NDC to focus on promoting peace and stop attempts to create chaos .
