In a meaningful show of community-focused healthcare, CureAid Chemist successfully concluded its inaugural Wellness Awareness Week, impacting over 650 residents across Ashalley Botwe, Oyarifa, Madina, and Adenta. Held from April 7–13, 2025, the event offered life-saving health screenings, wellness education, and practical tools to help residents take control of their health.

In addition to in-person activities, CureAid hosted a virtual nutrition webinar led by Ms. Dede Teiko, a leading nutritionist at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The session covered practical strategies for improving dietary habits, debunked common nutrition myths, and empowered attendees to make smarter food choices. Participants joined from across Ghana and beyond, further underscoring CureAid’s commitment to accessible health education.
“Nutrition is often overlooked until it's too late,” said Ms. Teiko. “It’s encouraging to see CureAid taking the lead in bridging that gap between medicine and everyday lifestyle choices.”
Throughout the week, CureAid branches were transformed into community health hubs, offering free blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, malaria, and BMI checks, along with in-house medical consultations and counseling. The primary aim was early detection of silent illnesses and encouraging a shift toward preventive healthcare.
A standout highlight of the campaign was the Hydration Challenge, which encouraged participants to monitor and improve their water intake over seven days. The challenge aimed to raise awareness of hydration’s role in kidney function, metabolism, and overall well-being. Awards for top performers (yet to be announced) will include:
Free gym subscriptions

Wellness spa sessions
Hydration products
Wellness product packs
“This experience was amazing,” said Linda Asante, a participant from Adenta. “I didn’t realize how dehydrated I was until the challenge opened my eyes. CureAid has truly gone beyond just being a pharmacy—this is real community care.”
Yaw Obeng, another participant, added: “I walked in for a simple checkup and walked out better informed and motivated to take my health seriously. I hope they do this every year.”

The initiative was amplified through key partnerships with leading wellness advocates and brands:
Jibu Ghana provided clean drinking water throughout the week.
“We believe hydration is foundational to good health, and we’re proud to support this campaign,” said Jonathan Zobi, Country Manager.
Bold Gym (Nmai Dzorn) and The Basement Gym (Oyarifa Mall) offered fitness coaching and health assessments.
“CureAid’s approach aligns with our mission of sustainable wellness—starting from the ground up,” said Nana Dwomo Agyemang Badu, CEO of Bold Gym.
Denk Pharma, a pharmaceutical company committed to quality medication and education, supported the initiative with personnel, testing kits, equipment, and educational materials.
Ultra Spa (Adenta) promoted mental wellness through relaxation tips and on-site stress-relieving bench massages.
“True wellness is holistic. We’re excited to be part of a movement that encourages both physical and mental balance,” said Collins Dumevi, CEO of Ultra Spa.
Dr. Lovia Nyarko, CureAid’s Director of Operations, described the week as just the beginning:
“We’re committed to driving wellness from the community level up. This is not a one-time effort; it’s the beginning of a long-term vision.”
With 650 individuals directly impacted, and many more reached via social media and community engagement, CureAid Chemist’s Wellness Awareness Week has set a new benchmark for health promotion within Ghana’s pharmacy sector.
