BON Agro, in collaboration with Delmark Agro, is set to organise a series of farmer engagement programmes and a farmers’ symposium across communities in the Akatsi South Municipality as part of efforts to equip farmers with practical knowledge and strengthen collaboration within the agricultural sector.

The initiative, themed “Empowering Farmers Through Knowledge and Collaboration,” seeks to provide farmers with modern farming techniques, access to agricultural support services, and opportunities to build stronger partnerships with agribusiness stakeholders.

The programme is being spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer of Delmark Agro, Hon. Edem Ackuaku, who is widely recognised as the brain behind the entire initiative. His vision is to ensure that farmers across the municipality receive the necessary education, training and support needed to improve productivity and livelihoods.

Hon. Ackuaku, a former Municipal Best Farmer Award winner, is also known for his active political and community leadership as the Branch Chairman and Ward Coordinator of the NDC in Shell Tobacco. His passion for agriculture and grassroots development has been instrumental in initiating the programme aimed at directly benefiting farmers.

The farmer engagement activities will begin on March 11, 2026, in the Wute Zone, where farmers from Wute and Adeheta Electoral Areas will meet from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, while farmers from Wuxor, Have, Sremanu, Avadzre and Kpevi Klokpe Gornikporpe Electoral Areas will gather at Sremanu from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.

The engagement will continue on March 12, 2026, with meetings scheduled for farmers in the Adzikame and Kpodzivi areas. The session at Adzikame will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Kpodzivi engagement from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The programme will be hosted by the Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, with participation from several local leaders including the Presiding Member of the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly, Hon. Raphael Kofi Ahiable; Hon. Japhet Festus Gbede, Assemblymember for Wuxor, Have and Sremanu Electoral Area; Hon. Wisdom Akpabli, Assemblymember for Wute Electoral Area; Hon. Prosper Mawuta Agbeli, Assemblymember for Alorka Avadzre Electoral Area; Hon. Obed Pomado of Kpevi, Klokpe, and Hon. Kennedy Biedo, Assemblymember for Kpodzivi Electoral Area.

The initiative will climax with a Farmers’ Symposium on March 13, 2026, at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly Hall, where farmers, agricultural experts, local authorities and stakeholders will gather to deliberate on practical strategies to improve farming practices and strengthen agricultural development in the municipality.

Organisers believe the initiative will serve as an important platform for knowledge sharing, farmer empowerment and sustainable agricultural growth in Akatsi South Municipality.
