Ohemaa Piesie Kwafobea Foundation: A new dawn of empowerment in Akwamu Adonteng Apeguso

In the heart of Ghana’s Eastern Region, a transformative journey has just begun—led by the inspiring Nkosuo Hemaa—Ohemaa Piesie Kwafobea, of Akwamu Adonteng Apeguso and her newly founded Ohemaa Piesie Kwafobea Foundation. This initiative is more than an NGO; it is a beacon of hope, a catalyst for change, and a testament to the power of investing in human potential.

Beginning of June 2025, the Foundation unveiled its maiden project—a meticulously crafted week-long makeup training designed to elevate the lives of 32 dedicated young women and men from the community.

Each participant was not only equipped with hands-on skills but also received a full bridal makeup kit valued at GHS 1,000—an investment that arms them for sustainable livelihoods. Complementing this was a professional certification, a crucial credential that opens doors to the competitive beauty industry.

To nurture the body and mind, daily lunches were provided, reinforcing the Foundation’s holistic approach: empowering individuals physically, skill-wise, and emotionally.

Yet, the Foundation’s vision transcends vocational skills alone. Understanding that education forms the bedrock of long-term progress, the Ohemaa Piesie Kwafobea Foundation extended its reach to youth preparing for the June 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

A comprehensive package of stationery—including mathematical sets, pens, pencils, and rulers—was distributed, easing the financial pressures that too often hinder academic confidence and performance in underserved communities.

Looking ahead, the Foundation is poised to deepen its educational impact. A significant project pipeline is already in motion, with plans to provide essential stationery supplies—exercise books, pens, pencils, and other academic necessities—to pupils for the upcoming September academic year.

This sustained support will address ongoing barriers to learning, ensuring that every child in the community has the tools to succeed.

This dual-pronged strategy—skills development and educational support—reflects a deep commitment to personal development and human investment. It is a clarion call for sustainable change rooted in self-reliance, dignity, and opportunity.

However, the Foundation’s ambitions are far greater than this initial success. To truly scale impact and transform the sub-region into a hub of economic empowerment and educational excellence, the Ohemaa Piesie Kwafobea Foundation urgently seeks strategic partners, visionary donors, and impact investors. These collaborations will drive future initiatives, expand training programs, provide scholarships, and catalyse innovation that uplifts entire communities.

This is a pivotal moment. The Foundation extends an unequivocal invitation to stakeholders across Ghana and beyond—corporate entities, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, and private individuals—to join hands in forging a legacy of empowerment in Akwamu Adonteng Apeguso.

The time to invest in people, to nurture talent, and to champion education is now. Together, with the Ohemaa Piesie Kwafobea Foundation, we can unlock the full potential of Ghana’s Eastern Region—building resilient communities and nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
