Armed bandits killed Sammy Gyamfi's father-in-law.

Following claimed gunshot wounds on Friday, February 13, 2026, Sammy Gyamfi, the father-in-law of GOLDBOD's CEO, passed away today, Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

It is thought that armed robbers shot Sammy's father-in-law. Despite every medical attempt to save his life, Mr. Karikari was unable to survive. The victim reportedly resides in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, where the armed robbery event took place.

In December 2022, Sammy Gyamfi received a hand in marriage from Irene Amankwaa Karikari's father. The public knows very little about Mr. Gyamfi's late father-in-law.On December 21, 2022, Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) then-National Communication Officer, married Irene in a semi-private wedding in Accra.

Close family members and the NDC's highest ranking officials, including John Dramani Mahama, the former president and current president of the Republic, attended the ceremony. The groom was running for reelection as National Communication Officer at the NDC's National Delegates Congress, therefore the wedding, which was originally planned for late November 2022, was rescheduled.
