Recent claims by Boni King Tackie Adama Latse II that he is the legitimate Ga Mantse have been rejected by the legal representative for Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II. Adama Latse II reaffirmed his claim to the crown in a statement dated October 26, claiming that King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II is illegally in the post.
In response, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II's attorney and President of the Ga Dangbe Council, Nii Ayikoi Otoo, addressed the issue in an interview, stating that the legal battle is still pending and attributing the delays to Adama Latse II's legal team. The two parties are in front of the Greater Accra House of Chiefs' judicial committee.
The statement's author, Adama Latse, claims to have won numerous battles and is well aware that a lawsuit is still pending, Otoo stated. He pointed out that the court has let King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II to carry out Ga Mantse's duties until the case is resolved, in spite of Adama Latse II's assertions. Mr. Otoo also disclosed that the matter has been drawn out because Adama Latse II's team has routinely missed court sessions and neglected to provide the necessary witness statements.
We've been to court multiple times since I took control. He has refused to submit the witness statements that the court required the parties to submit. It's strange that he would make such a declaration now, given he hasn't been going to court," Otoo said, characterizing the new statement as deceptive. He said this when appearing on Channel One TV in Accra on Monday, October 28.
