Regina Daniels, a well-known Nollywood actress, recently told her unusual story of meeting her husband, Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko, and the early pushback she received from her family. Regina disclosed in a live Instagram session that she met Nwoko when she was out with one of her ex-boyfriends. "My boyfriend and I went sightseeing when I visited him. She laughed and added, "The lesson here is that your boyfriend shouldn't prevent you from meeting your husband. I was initially irritated, but then I met a cute man."

Regina recounted having "about 20 boyfriends" before to meeting her current spouse. "People thought my mom forced me, but actually, my whole family was against it," she explained, laughing at the accusations that she had no say in the marriage. Actually, at first, Regina's mother didn't want her daughter to wed the much older politician.

Nwoko and Regina were married in May 2019 in Aniocha Local Government Area, Delta State, in spite of the early opposition. The 38-year age difference in the marriage attracted a lot of public attention, particularly as Nwoko had already married five wives before he married Regina. Nwoko, however, gave explicit justification for his choice, stating, "I wanted a wife from my place." Regina was the ideal candidate and met all the requirements.
